Play Scrabble Online

I grew up playing Scrabble on a board. But lately I’ve been hearing of people who play Scrabble online. Just like some online games, you can play with other people — people on the other side of the world — or you can play the game by yourself. If you play Scrabble online you’ll find that it’s really no different than the board version. It may come in handy when traveling to grandmas this Christmas in case you forgot to pack some interesting games for the kids. Of course, I’m assuming that grandma has a computer and is hooked up to the Internet. If that’s all good to go, then you and your child are set to practice your vocabulary skills.

Chess Board Setup

Chess board setup was very easy for me to understand when I started learning to play chess. The game itself is easy to understand the moves of each piece, but it’s the strategy that I always found difficult ot grasp. With the chess board setup, my brother and I would take turns starting out. We’d each think the other was cheating somehow even though our moves were legit. I still have the chessboard I received as a gift from my childhood. It had butterfly wings as part of the “white” squares.

Monopoly Board Games

Monopoly board games The monopoly board game is something I remember playing, but never really had much interest in. Whenever I played with my brothers, it always seemed like we were fighting over how many spaces we moved and accused the other one of cheating all the time. Plus, it always seemed that I got the short end of the stick when I played monopoly board games. Keeping up with the money to buy a property was something I struggled with. Guess I’ve never really been much for math-oriented games. However, it does amaze me the longevity this game has. And not just the age of the monopoly board game, but also how many variations of games it has become.

Milton Bradley Board Games

Milton Bradley board games are something I’ve grown up with. I have fond memories of playing games like Operation, Perfection, and Candy Land (okay, I didn’t play that one that much, but I confess, I’ve played it). What I find exiciting about Milton Bradley board games is that they are indeed fun and attract the attention of young players. Some are even educational. For example, take Hangman. Now that can get a child thinking about words and find it challenging, but they come away with a better vocabulary in my opinion.
